Callisto Media/Rockridge Press and the author of this work were kind enough to send me a temporary digital copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review. And since it is hot as hades outside, I might as well read cookbooks sitting in front of the fan, right????

When life for the entire galaxy and planet has turned on its end, you have personally decided to basically continue on #maskingup and #lockingdown to be in #COVID19 #socialisolation as the #thirdwave ( #fourthwave #fifthwave?) is upon us, superspeed readers like me can read 300+ pages/hour, so yes, I have read the book … and many more today. Plus it is hot as all heck and nothing is more appealing than sitting in front of a fan with a kindle!

From the publisher, as I do not repeat the contents or story of books in reviews, I let them do it as they do it better than I do 😸.

Okay, $280 a month PER PERSON for a plant-based diet? That is ... high. Real-estate-price high. Last week I reviewed a book on Keto for $8/day (which is not possible in Canada unless you kill your own animals) but beans and rice are ... cheap. Africa cheap. Add in oatmeal and you have 90% of my current "I am not getting paid" diet.

Organic vegetables are expensive as are Frankenfoods. But I can eat a lot cheaper than this book and its American prices. (groceries are so cheap in the USA vs Canada!) Nonetheless, there are some great recipes in here that you can eat well off of if you shop locally and in season. The recipes presented are well written and understandable by cooks of all levels and the photos make the food very appealing to myself and other lovers of food out there.

I especially love the book because it uses mostly whole ingredients instead of pre-prepared and packaged foods. I do draw the line at making my own cheese, and canning tomatoes but the more "ingredients" you use the better. My one nephew says that I never have any food in my house, only ingredients --- that is why I cook so much. I also refuse to eat or cook with "chick'n" and its 88 ingredients vs. πŸ”chickenπŸ” having one!) and cheese that does NOT come from an animal is udder nonsense!)

As always, I try to find a reason to not rate with stars as I simply adore emojis (outside of their incessant use by "πŸ™-ed Social Influencer Millennials/#BachelorNation survivors/Tik-Tok and YouTube Millionaires/snowflakes etc. " on Instagram and Twitter... Get a real job, people!) so let's give it πŸ…πŸ…πŸ…

The only problem with this book is the ingredient list is in pale blue ink and with my eyesight it was hard to read.
